‘Last Supper of The Clones – Redux’
A photo collage project as part of the ‘Image Processing’ module in my 1st year Multimedia studies in Cavan Institute. This was a second edited version of the collage i did. Where the original had a photo taken by me as the background, i opted to re-do it with an edited version of Da Vinci’s ‘The Last Supper’. The ‘clones’ in this collage are all in fact different poses done my brother Thomas, wearing different bed-sheet combinations to create the effect of different individuals playing the ’12 apostles’ at the table (bed-sheets given with permission by my mother, thanks mum!). All the images were edited and put together using Photoshop.

UpStart General Election 2011 – Poster campaign
This first poster design was 1 of 2 possible designs i put forward for the UpStart poster campaign, (as part of the ‘Culture & Society’ module in 3rd year Creative Media studies in DkIT) which took place during Irelands heated and very public General Election during 2011. For this one, entitled ‘EndCronyism’, i was going for a message against the corruption of government cronyism – ultimately a little harsh for the campaign…
For this next one, entitled ‘YourVoting ForYourFuture’, i went for a patriotic message of each member of Ireland encouraged to vote in order to make their voice heard. As you can see, i used the ‘Uncle Sam’ character seen in American war posters of the past as the basis for possible Irish-Uncle Sam. My least favourite out of the two designs as its the least original, but i still like it…

Production Company Logo Design
This was a design i created for a fictional production company (now the name of my own one-man productions) called PurplePeanutProductions, which was part of the ‘Illustrator Techniques’ module in my 2nd year Creative Media studies. The name dosint particularly mean anything really, i just liked the repetition of the three P’s and the playfulness of the name. I used a large purple coloured peanut character for the icon/ mascot of the logo with the hope of creating a more detailed version of the character to be animated for possible full use of the logo in videos and animations: This hasint materialized as of yet, but i did go on to use the name as i said and hope to put together a professional animated logo to match in the near future…
Another part of the logo design was to show its implementation in formal company letters, business cards and compliments slips. They each used a similar temple, with slight differences to suit the format, so heres one example, the business card:
The card has a subtle repeated logo to the left side of the card, to give it a little more illustration while not drawing attention from the important details, and of course my name in big letters …just to be sure the name aint forgotten!…

Character Design
This was a design (In a slightly dramatic, yet relevant, broody heroic pose) for a character i worked on for a few spin-off projects in the ‘Illustrator Techniques’ module in DkIT during my 2nd year Creative Media studies. The character was a reluctant, super-hero-type mouse called PEANUT!. Named as such, due to the empty paper bag of peanuts he wears on his head while on heroic duty. This character design went on to be used for a badge project (see below), a graphic novel project (see below) and an animation based on the graphic novel…

Badge with character design.

This is the graphic novel, which used the PEANUT! character as its lead character as he flies to the aid of an old woman and her cat – currently stuck in a tree…

Interactive Culture CD project
This was 1 of 2 designs i put forward for a proposed ‘Culture CD’, as part of the ‘Multimedia Authoring’ module during 2nd year Creative Media studies in DKiT. This design was for the main menu of a fictional photography group/project called ‘Variety Fotos’ in which i went for a kind of scrapbook-type design, with photos shuffling between page turns. My least favourite of the two as i was never 100% that the pages and content could flow easily…
_
The second design i put forward for the ‘Culture CD’ project, this was a design for the main menu of a CD for fictional band ‘Audio Violence’, with links to pages always present on the amplifier switches in the foreground, while different pages load behind through animated images. My favourite of the two designs due to its colours and solid page layout…

Media show poster design
This was 1 of 2 designs i put forward for the ‘Media show’ project as part of the ‘Visual Communications’ module during my 2nd year Creative Media studies in DkIT. Entitled ‘Media Fest 09′, for this design i went for a simple and clean look with not too much going on but yet drawing attention to the important details…
_
For this second design for the ‘Media show’, i wanted to create a more old-time carnival or market show-type look, almost Victorian in look. Entitled ‘The Charm Offensive’, the idea was to populate it with a lot of detail ,harsh-looking and multi-sized textfont. This one took longer to create simply because of the detail involved but i think i came across ok. Maybe not the ideal design for a client of this type but if the theme of the show fitted the design it would of been a match made in heaven…

Photography logo
This was the logo i designed back in Cavan Institute while studying ‘Image Processing’ for the 1st year of the Multimedia course. A simple design to get across the message of the title through the image used…

Interactive Portable Media Interface
‘Media-Boy’ was a design for a portable media device i put forward as part of the ‘HCI’ course in 3rd year Creative Media in DkIT. A wrist-mounted device, ‘Media-Boy’ was inspired by the Apple iPod and the original Nintendo GameBoy and was intended to play music, and video content in an easy-to-use, touch-screen format. I went on to create a physical prototype of the design made from cardboard and salvaged straps…
